Ingredients:
2 large onions
5 large garlic cloves
Half cup of ginger
Half cup of herring powder
Half cup of shrimp powder
Half cup of pepper powder
1 cup of oil to fry.
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 teaspoon aniseed (optional)
1 teaspoon rosemary (optional)
Salt to taste.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO COOK SHITO
Blend onions, ginger, and garlic.
In a pot of hot oil, add the blended onions, ginger, and garlic. Stir till golden brown.
Fry till it stops bubbling (then all the liquid has evaporated).
Add tin tomatoes, stirring often for a few minutes until it's dry.
Add powdered pepper, powdered herrings, and shrimp powder.
Fry for a few minutes, until dry. Stirring often to prevent burning.
Ensure it's cooked on low heat.
